Something old, something new
Today is the end of birthday season here. For the first time since 1987, my sister and I were together for our birthdays - which are 4 days apart. So, in keeping with an old family tradition, Ommi arranged with HTH for this to be delivered on the 18th. Also in keeping with tradition, that purple should be a kind of lavender/grey. Turns out that they actually HAVE purple icing stuff here in America, so they don't have to try and create their own. How boring is that?
The new thing is the latest addition to our little business. Turns out that HTH has outgrown working out of The Box. Although it is an exciting that he needed one of these - in the "work van" model of course - it is a bit strange still. He is hauling around some empty space for the first time - which feels wrong somehow - and getting far worse gas mileage. But the alternative - taking multiple trips for the same job with any of those trips ranging from 5 to 75 miles round trip - was worse. So, we traded in the rattly old van and got one of these. I'll post pics if it is ever actually home in the daylight!
Other than that, the new things include - a door knob for the kitchen door, a shower head, and a bed! Although these are all to replace things that were broken or completely worn out, it feels funny to buy so many new things in one week. Apparently, I've developed a habit over the last few months of NOT buying new if I can help it. Hmmmm.... strange how these things creep up on you. Have you ever developed an accidental habit?

Well it sure didn't come out the right color but y'all got the idea ;-). New stuff can be fun, huh?! Get some pics of the bed up, OK? Can't wait!
The cake looks lovely!
Happy Birhday!
Hey, Ommi,
No new frame yet - just a new mattress. We want to live with this super high bed for a while before we decide what we want in there!
And, Eva, thanks - from both my sister and I!
