Done!

Today, V & I finished the Mediterranean bed today! We still have to let it cure up and fill it with rock and dirt still, but it is MADE!

We laid the first course yesterday evening - which involved concrete and levels and fidgeting the blocks around quite a bit. Then we let that dry overnight.

Then came this morning. It took us about 4 hours to get the next two courses up and secured. I should say that is due entirely to the invention of Surface Bonding concrete. It is applies like stucco, and mixes like cement, but has fiberglass in it to make it structurally sound. In other words, no mortar, no lines. Just dry fit it and coat it up.

As hard as it may be to believe with the temps what the were today, we had a blast doing it. Now we're very tired, but satisfied. Looking forward to putting it to use soon!

Well Baba says it's cool; I say you are two VERY CLEVER binkies!! The new stuff to hold it together is a great idea and you did a lovely job!

That new stuff was all due to the gift card, you know. We went to Lowes, which isn't as familiar to us - so that meant looking around more then we would've done at Home Depot.

This was the difficult one to do - since we had to build to the existing curb. The woodlands bed will be a piece of cake now!
