How Does Your Garden Grow?

It seems that I've settled into blogging once a week whether you need it or not! My hands have been much occupied elsewhere - what with the investment house and the business hitting an unexpectedly busy patch. With so many people struggling with money issues here, we do not complain about being busy, but is was QUITE a surprise for this time of year.

But some things are always the same - as you can see. The blood oranges and grapefruit are almost ready.



















And everything seems to be surviving the winter in my nursery bed. Although you're mostly seeing the yarrow, italian parsley, cilantro and lemon balm, there is also some marjoram, zaatar oregano, echinacea and sage in there!







The zaatar are still pretty small, but seem to be planning to take over the world.
















The cold turned the catnip leaves purple - and did the same on the blackberry bush. The chocolate mint has some brand new leaves that are eggplant colored! They all continue to add leaves and roll along with the new strange color scheme.


















The good news is that we still have the Yellow Potato Onion with us - despite the demise of the cayenne in the same bed. I can't wait to see what these things look and taste like!



















I've made a few additions to the front beds since I last posted as well. You can see the ivy geranium here. In the space before that, I have some calendula started that will hopefully end up in the yard this spring!



















Both the rue and thyme - below - are also recent additions. It turned out to be a good thing that I added the thyme in late November/early December. We definitely harvested the recommended 1/3 of this plant for various Christmas dishes!


















And, of course, the front yard "ornamentals". The rosemary all have a few flowers on them. The lavender is looking quite lovely. None of them are anywhere NEAR as big as they will be, but they have managed to grow some even this winter. Stubborn things, they are. Almost as stubborn as the dandelion that has decided to surround them!







So, that is the state of my yards. Anyone got anything growing?
