Yesterday was a strange one. It was - quite literally - a day that marked the culmination of efforts to both end my old life and begin the next thing. How - and why - that all happened in one day, is beyond me. But, hey, you know by now that my life operates on some unusual principles. Things like this just happen
So, I taught my last day of the corporate training that I've been working on. That meant is was my last day at the office. I packed up my desk. I said goodbye to people that I won't be seeing again. I set up plans to see other people regularly. But it was all definitely an ending.
At the same time, I spent an hour or two yesterday finishing up the details on the new little house that we're buying. This house is our first "widget". It will be the first thing that will provide some cash flow that is not directly linked to the hours that we work on it.
So, today I feel a bit odd. I still have one day of work - Tuesday - to finalize a few details with the bosses. And I still have to meet with the house inspector on Monday and sign the paperwork (and give them a big check) later next week. But everything that I've done lately has finally all added up to somethings. That is, for the time being, enough for me to be happy about!

Yeah, it's cool. But gotta feel a little bittersweet, huh?
